Walker Jones to Join the National Tour of Wicked as the Wizard

Walker Jones will join the cast of the second national tour of Wicked in the role of the Wizard beginning March 13. Jones will make his first appeareance on the tour when heads to the Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte, NC. The musical will remain in Charlotte through March 31.

Jones joins a cast that includes Christine Dwyer as Elphaba, Jeanna de Waal as Glinda, Billy Harrigan Tighe as Fiyero and Gina Ferrall as Madame Morrible. Jones' New York theater credits include Scapin, Merry Wives of Windsor, Merchant of Venice and Henry VI.

A vivid reimagining of the classic The Wizard of Oz, Wicked spotlights the untold stories of Oz’s most famous characters: the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friend, Glinda the Good. The show follows the tale of green-skinned Elphaba through the life-changing events that eventually label her "wicked." Fun for the whole family, Wicked is a tale about love, friendship and trust that reveals that there are two sides to every story. The Grammy-winning score by Stephen Schwartz features the songs "The Wizard and I," "Popular" and "Defying Gravity."

Wicked is currently playing the Bob Carr Theatre in Orlando, Florida through March 10.
