To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Great War, the World War I Museum in Kansas City has announced a special partnership with the national tour of War Horse. The tour of the Tony Award-winning play, which tells the story of a horse and his young owner in the midst of war-torn Europe, will play the Municipal Auditorium Music Hall from April 1 through April 6, 2014. To kick off the collaborative initiative, which will include additional events next year, the show’s star puppet, Joey the horse, trotted into the museum for a special visit. Check out the video below to see Joey getting up close and personal with museum visitors and hear why WWI board of trustees member Dr. Mary Cohen believes the story of War Horse is one that must be told.
