Kansas City announces its 2013-2014 Broadway season!

Horses will be galloping and witches will be flying their way into Kansas City soon. The 2013-2014 Broadway season will include the blockbuster musical Wicked as well as the Tony-winning play War Horse. Other offerings in the season include Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, American Idiot, Bring It On and Rat Pack Show.

The Broadway mega hit Wicked flies into Kansas City from October 9, 2013 through October 27 at the Municipal Auditorium Music Hall. A vivid reimagining of the classic The Wizard of Oz, the musical spotlights the untold stories of Oz’s most famous characters: the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friend, Glinda the Good. The Grammy-winning score by Stephen Schwartz features the songs “The Wizard and I,” “Popular” and “Defying Gravity.”

Beauty and the Beast will arrive from December 10, 2013 through December 15 at the Music Hall. Based on Disney's Academy Award-winning animated feature film, this family-friendly musical love story features the songs “Be Our Guest” and “Beauty and the Beast.”

The funky nuns of Sister Act will make their Kansas City debut from January 21, 2014 through January 26 at the Music Hall. The musical comedy (based on the hit film) focuses on disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, who witnesses a crime and goes into hiding in a convent. Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her new “sisters” find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.

The hit musical American Idiot tells the story of three lifelong friends, forced to choose between their dreams and the safety of suburbia. Based on Green Day’s Grammy Award-winning multi platinum album, the show features the hits “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “21 Guns,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends” and “Holiday.” The rock musical will play at the Muriel Kauffman Theatre at the Kauffman Center in January 2014.

Bring It On will be shaking its pom poms when it opens at the Kauffman Center on February 11, 2014 and runs through February 16. Straight from Broadway, Bring It On is a new musical based on the popular movie and tells the story of a group of high school cheerleaders that experience the challenges and unexpected bonds formed through the thrill of extreme competition. The show features explosive dance and aerial stunts, in addition to a vibrant score.

War Horse, winner of five Tony Awards, will run from April 1, 2014 through April 6 at the Music Hall. Using extraordinary puppets, War Horse tells the story of young Albert and his beloved horse, Joey, who is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France at the outbreak of World War I. Albert, unable to forget Joey and still not old enough to enlist, embarks on a mission to find his horse and bring him home.

Celebrate the Golden Age of Las Vegas with a cabaret-style evening “starring” Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Joey Bishop and Sammy Davis Jr. The Rat Pack Show is a theatrical production that includes great arrangements of the classic songs everyone knows and loves, including “That’s Amore,” “For Once in My Life” and “Luck Be a Lady.” The crooners arrive at the Kauffman Center on May 27, 2014 and play through June 1.

HOLIDAY HOURS: The Subscriber Service Center will be closed Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th for the US Thanksgiving Holiday. We will re-open Monday, December 1st at 9am. HAPPY HOLIDAY!
